Digital substitute lesson plans --- the future?

posted Apr 1, 2009, 9:56 AM by Barry Jahn

One of the participants in a technology workshop I did up at Hood River is a middle school teacher named Bryce Jenkinson.

He just sent me a sample of his work that began in the workshop. Wow --- he's really going to town.

1. Using Tokbox for a substitute teacher (posted on his Blog for the kids to listen to).

2. Bryce developed a class website using Google Sites for his kids.

Sorting a selected range of Data in Google Sheets

Remember how we concluded that almost anything we want to do is easy --- if we can just figure it out. Well, it applies to the little challenge we couldn't solve in class.
Challenge: how does one Sort a range of data without messing up the rest of the data?
  1. Select and COPY the range of data cells you would like to include in the data sort
  2. At the bottom of your Sheet, select Add Sheet
  3. Paste your data into the new sheet
  4. Select the column you wish to Sort, and do so
  5. Copy the newly sorted data table
  6. Return to the main Sheet and Paste right over the original data
  7. Voila!

Topic: select your multimedia project ahead of time.

Since we are very limited in our F2F time, I am requesting you research and make the decision ahead of time on the Multimedia Project you would like to work on.

You may choose from the list that is currently Posted in the Sign-In Sheet on the Tab titled Teams-Projects.

Please place your name in the appropriate cell in Column G.  If you would like to work with someone in particular, get together and sign up right away.

Max of 3 in each Group. If more than 3 sign up, then we'll flip coins or draw straws.

Every category is a ton of fun, so there are no boring or un-fun choices :)

Be sure to let me know if you have any questions.

Mr J.
